Friday Free Lunch
Every Friday (September - June) the church serves a free lunch from 11 am - 1 pm in the downstairs social hall. The purpose of this outreach ministry is to offer hospitality to the community by providing a healthy home-cooked meal and an opportunity to socialize with friends and strangers alike. On average 50 people come to enjoy a nourishing meal and good conversation. We have served upwards of 80 people and on special occasions local performers entertain with live music.
Betsy's Playroom
Betsy’s playroom is a play space located at the Five Points Correctional Facility where small children can receive supervised care while their family members are visiting loved ones at the prison. It is named after Betsy Patsos, a member of the congregation (now deceased) whose vision it was to build and host this playroom. The church continues to coordinate a group of volunteers who staff the playroom on Saturdays during visiting hours. We are always looking for new volunteers willing to help with this important outreach effort.
Harmony Food Pantry
Founded and directed by Josh McKimm, the Harmony Food Pantry was created to serve families who need a pantry they can access on the weekend. The church serves as host site for this pantry which is open on Saturdays from 10am – 12 noon. For more information please contact Josh McKimm at harmonyfoodpantry@yahoo.com or visit their facebook page .
Operation Christmas Child (Shoe Box Project)
Each year the congregation fills boxes with small gifts and personal hygiene items to donate to the program "Operation Christmas Child". The boxes are distributed internationally to children in poor and developing countries. Under the direction of Nancy Poormon, the church donated about 80 boxes last year.
